Adding community building to your 2023 marketing strategy
Three useful links from the past week – as usual 😉
Let’s dive right in.
Community Marketing – the hottest topic in marketing in 2023
54% of content marketers said their organization would invest in social media/community building in 2023, up from 37% the previous year.
Businesses are increasingly starting to take advantage of community building and leverage community-led growth. We’re transitioning from generic sales messaging and whitepapers to more dynamic and personal interactions.

If you’ve been an active participant in Web3 communities, various Slack groups, or closed influencer circles, you surely understand the power of communities. And it’s only growing in popularity.
When building a community, here are my two main takeaways from building a community – based on two years of first-hand experience from the DeFi landscape:
🆕 Authenticity and engagement
Be genuine in your interactions with community members, and actively participate in discussions.
Building trust is crucial to fostering a loyal community. Respond to questions, share valuable insights, and be open to feedback. Engaging with your audience demonstrates that you value their opinions and are committed to their success.
Effective community marketing requires full commitment and takes a lot of time and effort – if you have the resources, consider hiring a community manager to maximize your potential of building a close-knit community.
//🎯 Personalize and tailor content
Your community members are diverse, with varying interests and needs. By segmenting your audience and tailoring content to their preferences, you can create a more personalized and meaningful experience.
This will lead to stronger connections and encourage members to become advocates for your brand, eventually driving community-led growth.
You may be surprised how helpful and supportive community members become – but only if you make them feel like they are part of your brand. They will become your most trusted allies, and best of all, it is a lot of fun!
Oh, and from what I’ve learned from Web3, memes are a great approach to engaging with your community – or even starting a movement that may end up going viral.

What the fuck I’m up to?
I’ve been consciously focusing more time on taking breaks from work in order to avoid potential burnout. Going to the gym, reading fiction books, going on evening walks with my daughter, and just taking the time to relax.
This is the main reason why the weekly newsletters have been shorter – I will eventually go into high gear again and start producing more quality content. For everyone still reading, I wouldn’t be doing this without you – thank you for giving me the motivation! 🤝
And that’s a taco. If you made it this far, thank you!
